Datamatics Management Services Inc., a privately held, forty year old labor management specialty company, warns its prospective clients of changes in the time and attendance industry that may affect them.

Fords, NJ June 21, 2007 - The time and attendance industry relies upon a customer-centric approach to client problems. This approach was once the standard of the industry. It is now at risk due to the rapid and dramatic changes which have recently occurred - the sale of Kronos and WorkBrain to investors who have only a financial interest and no experience in the workforce management industry. "Kronos' sale to private investors, ones that have shown a penchant for profit optimization, signals an apparent shift on their part away from customer-centric workforce solutions," states George Tallow, V.P. of Operations at Datamatics. "I think current and future clients will find that getting attention to their particular needs will have even lower priority after the acquisition."

"As a public company, they had always been interested in delivering maximum profits to its investors and reasonable value to the client. Now, with Hellman & Friedman Capital Partners and JMI Equity calling the shots, this may be quite different," says Tallow, who has more than two decades of experience in providing labor management solutions at Datamatics. "Prior to their recent acquisition, they had been managed and directed by individuals who were experienced in the workforce management industry. "Now, though", from Tallow's viewpoint, "the deal is done and increased profits will be the only game. With the impending departure of the Ain brothers, who founded and built the organization, we have to wonder how their influence will remain within the organization."

The workforce management industry has seen many changes in recent years. There have been four major acquisitions during this period. These consolidations represent great opportunities for smaller customer-centric companies such as Datamatics.

So, why the concern? "Current clients and those who are considering making capital investment in improved workforce performance would be well advised to consider that the recent leadership and ownership changes will most likely result in a significant tailoring of services and a noticeable loss of understanding of the intricacies and nuances of the employee management field. This should really be cause for concern in the rapidly changing, highly regulated, and increasingly litigious field of people management," Tallow warns. Datamatics welcomes labor management inquiries from all those concerned by the recent industry shakeups.
